Organic material

Organic material (or matter) is derived from living or once-living organisms. It includes plant material, animal or human excrement and fungi as well as bacteria and other living or once living material. Organic material is an important component of good soil-structure and can be fed to methane digesters as a feedstock although manure is generally used for digester feedstock. It feeds microorganisms and supplies nutrients to plants.
