Methane

Methane. (Ch4)

A gas produced by the anaerobic digestion of organic material. Anaerobic bacteria are those that function in an environment without air and as a function of there digestion of organic waste (animal or human manure) produce carbon dioxide (Co2) Hydrogen sulphide (H2S rotten egg gas)and Methane gas. The unwanted by products can be easily removed and we are left with almost pure methane that when mixed in the right ratio with air will burn and liberate heat energy. This contained energy can be put to good use to cook food, power engines of all sizes and even provide refrigeration by direct conversion of hot to cold.

Like all volatile materials Methane can explode if not treated with due respect.
