Heliostat

A solar focusing instrument consisting of mirrors mounted on an axis that is moved by a solar tracking device. The heliostat reflects solar energy in one direction, usually to a central absorber located at the focal point of the beam. This allows concentration of many square feet or meters of area on a small area at extreme temperature.
