Dump Load

A Dump Load is a device you use to dump excess power and keep a load on your windmill when the batteries are full to prevent over charging the batteries or allowing the windmill to overspeed by keeping a load on the windmill. In general terms the dump load should be rated to absorb the full output of the windmill(s) feeding it.
